Meet the Board
We are always seeking motivated and experienced people for our Board of Directors. We meet once per month and support camp through fundraising, decision making, accounting, and outreach. Please email us if you are interested. No camp experience necessary!
Lizzy Potts
Chair
Lizzy (she/her) first became involved with Camp Quest North in 2021. Her favorite thing to do at camp is make friendship bracelets.
Outside of camp, Lizzy is a school librarian in the Twin Cities. She enjoys spending time with her two cats, Flower and Angus.
Caroline Roth
Vice Chair, Registrar
Caroline (she/her) has been involved with Camp Quest North since 2019. She attends camp as a counselor and leadership staff every year and is involved in Planning Committee and Board of Directors outside of camp. Her day job is a competitive gymnastics coach. In her free time, she enjoys crafts, word puzzles, and board games. She lives with her two cats, Nora and Diane.
Athena Hatfield
Treasurer
Athena (they/them) originally got involved with Camp Quest North as a camper in 2007. Since then, they have been involved with Camp Quest North in various capacities as a counselor, camp director, and board member. They are currently in school to become a speech-language pathologist. In their freetime, Athena enjoys watching shows, playing french horn, knitting, rock climbing, and board games. They live with their cat Peter and their husband who is also Peter.
Emily Johnson
Secretary
Emily (she/her) has been going to Camp Quest since she was 10, and was very eager to become more involved in her adult life. She has been on the board since 2018, and has served on the planning committee since 2017. She enjoys cooking, baking, and making friendship bracelets in her free time! Emily lives with her partner and her two kitties.
Eric Bryden
Tim Gerla
Tim (he/him) has been involved with Camp Quest since 2016 when he joined CQ Smoky Mountains as a cabin counselor. He is now on the senior staff of CQSM and joined the Camp Quest North board in 2024. He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with his dogs and partner, and enjoys exploring nature, building things, and occasionally playing the piano. Before he moved to Chapel Hill, he served on the board of SkeptiCal, the Northern California Conference on Science and Skepticism.
Esme Mullaney
Esme (she/they) joined Camp Quest North as a camper and CIT; and then became a counselor and began helping on the Board of Directors and Planning Committee as an adult! They are currently attending DePaul University with a major in Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies. They live in Chicago with their cat, Fergus.
Isabel Gilliam
Isabel (she/her) has been going to camp since she was 13. As an adult she has continued to be involved with camp as a cabin counselor, part of the planning committee, and worked in the camp kitchen one year. 2024 is her first year as a member of the board. She enjoys writing, hiking, video games, enjoys creating new things, and hanging out with cool people. She lives with her two cats, Pumpkin and Aster.
Fynn Remhof
Fynn (she/they) began her camp career as a CIT at age 16, and became a counselor right away! She currently attends the University of Alabama where she studies Environmental Science. Most of her free time is spent exploring and studying caves in Alabama; she also enjoys painting, rock climbing, and generally being a nerd about anything nature related!
